This isn't something you'd want to use on styrene - it's too soft! This would overheat it,and cause it to melt to the cutting bit,at least whatever didn't get torn up,and thrown from the machine. A vac-former is your best bet. I'm getting ready to make my own vacuumformer. I'm being commisioned to make a canopy for a member of another modeling forum. I'll use the vacformer for this, although I'm planning on making a couple of scratch made versions of it.(01-15-2010, 06:49 PM)dbhs Wrote: As soon as the house is paid off I'm getting a 3-D printer. 26 years to go.
Actually I'm hoping they are cheap enough to get at home within 5 years. Wouldn't that be cool !
You ever heard of CarveWright? They are pretty cheap.. and the end product does look pretty good. I've thought about getting one myself.. But, I need to justify spending $1500.00 for something like that first![]()

I need to get my uncles' trunk fixed THIS WEEK without fail! I need the money, and the parts for this machine,so I can get that much done, and hopefully have enough left over to pay for a better camera someday. The one I won is supposed to come this week - IF paypal comes through. A vacformer would be a lifesaver for many projects that I have planned.
