Look at it this way - you could have to keep redoing all your work like I do,as there's no instruction manual,or premade model,or base to work from! If this bothers you,just redo it until YOU'RE satisfied with it,but don't wait until it's all finished to do so. I have to make 98% of my parts from scratch on a huge model - with very poor reference,as I have to supersize my photos,and decipher what I see with digital technology. This is what is taking me so damn long to get anything done! I could've built a hundred of these shuttles from scratch in the time I've taken to look at reference photos alone! This is Lucasfilm property,and they're not going to let me have first hand at this,so I can copy it.
This shuttle looks really good,so don't worry about little things that won't be seen,or are not as noticable. Mike did a great job making this kit a reality,and now you have something very few on this earth will ever own - let alone build the way you did.
