Damn,you are right there Doug,they should be super bright from our trial run's.
Hmm,thats strange.
As for the heat issue,unfortunately these will put off some heat.If you wanna be able to leave on for long periods of time these are not going to work for you without them taking there toll on the build over time.The only real soloution is to have them engine bells made from something that will not distort from heat and preferably a low conductor of heat.The bells are just so thin and long periods of running i believe will effect the casted ones in our kit's without question.
It's something you'll have to decide on really.
A,do you want the globes to look like the studio models globes and B,i don't think you'll be able to achieve the look these halogens put out using LED's.It'll just come down to what you want,thats all that it has to be and should be!
