ILM Pyro casting X wing, Red 3

Heres a bit of a update on a project i was lucky enough to be involved in. Managed to get a hull from a very nice man, very, very nice man as it goes.
Then another very kind gentleman hooked me up with all the remaining Van Nuy's parts to complete the build.
This is the hollow two part hull, which as caused some huge headaches and juggling around, but things are now on the up and up.
Work is still underway on the wings and engines, but i decided to paint, completely in Floquil nonetheless, as we have been doing a bit of paint research on all things Floquil, so to those that have helped me, you know who you are, a HUGE thank you, and i hope I'm making it all pay off.
Anyhoo, on to the pics, enjoy, still MUCH to be done, but just laying down the basics at the moment.

Thanks Dave . It's working out really well, I'm using enamels due to the fact the period lacquers are impossibe to get, even the vintage enamel is scarce now.
All said they are working very well, and the hues we have ID'd are ringing very true so far.
Just lovely paint to use on such a wonderful model.
The Base coat is a gloss white again with info shared with me, that is just spot on, all to be dullcoted at a later date

Bit more progress, in a weather holding pattern to base coat the lower wings, still some panels to re shoot, but its coming along now.

Thanks Jerry. Yes the Floquil are amazing. Look so subdued, pity they do not make them now, but managed to get a good collection so far, and ill continue to grow this now, was only really for Red 3, but i see so many builds i need to paint this way now. Update on Red 3 coming soon.

yes those paints really are nice to paint and airbrush, i have a small collection also, i will use them until the well goes dry, lol.
ive been needing some reefer white and ive used all of my resources to find it but no one carries them any more.

Yes sadly Reefer white is one that is harder to spot around. I have a few, but, wouldn't use them in anger on say, a base coat, more for mixing and misting as its a nice white to lay over.

This should be the last update till i get the guns finished, final weather pattern applied, and the pilot etc fitted. So from there ill take some very nice shots, bit hard right now as my cave is a mess and not the greatest for lighting away from the bench, but some grey velour and clamp lamps are in check i hope.
Lower wings all bonded up now, and the basic cannon bodies assembled and primed, these will be base coated tomorrow and fitted to allow all the final mist patterns to be laid over......then, we get to decals, all ID'd with the help of some stellar fellows, from original stock too

Thanks Jerry. Managed to get the primary cannon bodies fitted, so I'll finish up the misting and oversprays now, apply decal's,  and seal up.

Haha, she is done really Jerry. Decals all added and model has been dullcoted.
Just a tweak of two panels is needed and the Floquil to do that is enroute.
Beauty pics will come when I get her in front of some black velour.

It's too bad that we can't see the pictures - no more photobucket! I don't want to rain on anyones parade, but how do you know that this is truly a recast from the original ILM kits? There's no provonance, or Certificate Of Authenticity, or PDA, or ADA signature on a piece of paper work. How can you be sure that this guy is on the up and up? How can you know that what your're getting is real?

They are only losing usage and most would  be insane to bow to these demands of ransom.

Um, yeah. I agree! I hate photophucket now! I wish someone else would've bought them out. Now there will be a LOT of disappointed people all over the internet that used their site and now won't be able to.
