This begun as the JPG model kit that came with very crisp castings, however I have replaced as many resin bits as possible with the styrene kit parts that I had on hand. There were a few areas that needed surgery but nothing that some squadron putty couldnt fix. This has been a very fun build and my advice for anyone starting this build would be to make very sure to test fit the (2) hulls and bits that fit along the center pipe. You want to make sure that everything aligns, has a tight fit and is "squared up." Other than that, its a very straight forward build.
Here are some items of note for my build:
1. Ive added the MPC Vader tie cockpit front and rear walls to my build simply because I liked the look.
2. Im still trying to unwarp the resin wings. They are not bad, just slight enough to annoy me.
3. Base coat is Tamiya Haze Grey.
4. I am planning on building some kind of hangar diorama for the tie to hang from. Ive got some ideas...
5. There are a few small areas that I noticed after my painting where Im going to go back, sand and refinish for a smoother surface.
