Finally finished my RC Star Destroyer

Something like a 1000 strands of fiber optics and a bunch of LED bulbs, I have finally finished. I made the base wit 1/2 inch acrylic for the supports, 1/2 MDF for the base and Mirrored 1/8 inch acrylic to reflect the bottom of the ship. The kit was really challenging, but still a lot of fun. I painted the entire ship black first then airbrushed 4 shades of white to panel the surface and give it a little more texture.  I found this technique really helps the details pop out without having to do washes over the entire model.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the compliment! It's 37 inches long. It ended up being very heavy since I made the internal frame out of plywood and then fiberglassed the resin parts to it. It's strong though. The top superstructure is removable and is held on with magnets so I can still get to all the wiring.

Wow great work.
Had once one of this kit in hands and sold it cause of the horrible castings.
Therefore a lot of respect to build something great looking out of it as you did.
