SS Tie Turbo / X1 Advanced

Hi there, thought i'd share some progress of the Tie Turbo which is currently on my workbench.

The kit is from Imperial Replicas which is now called Dockingbay studios.
The kit itself has a lot of parts and is very detailed. As i bought the kit, their customer service was great, since they renamed there shop it's horrible.
But that's another story.

Some primer added and fitting the cockpit inside the hull

Filling seams with milliput and adding more details.
Armature get's on it's place before the hullparts were glued together.

Bulding the wings and adding the holes for the armatur.
Ready for first testfit, still a lot of work to do.

Yep absolutly. I would not recommend them anymore.
There were some missing parts in my kit.
I asked serveral times for replacements. At the beginning (befor they changed their name) i got fast replys to my mails.
Now nothingmore. Not even one reaction.

I have read anywhere, that the "head" of the group which were imperials models has left the group and since than they are just,f***k it up.
So in short, yes stay away from this guys.

Some more progress from the weekend.
Bought me the "chopper 2" and played a bit arround with it.

Does anybody have an idea from which kit this parts are?
Would need two more of them as they ar missing in my kit.

As the edges of the wings were bad casted, i removed them today completly.
Used the accurate T and U profiles to rebuild them.



Were great to bend over the edges to give them a clean look.

Hi Luis and thanks for your help.

Found the parts which were missing.
Just have to clean up some areas and add a those parts.
After that it's ready for painting.

Beside the wing covers and some acrylic parts for the base, it's close to finish now.
I have to mend a few areas here and there, but overall i'm happy with the result.

Finaly took some pic's with the SLR instead of the crappy handycam.

Really nice!!
May i ask which paint brand and colour you used for the bluegray of the model?
If you happen to have mixed it yourself could you be so kind to give the ratios because it really looks the part.

The paint i used is Tamiya TS32.
But it got's painted with the airbrush not with the can, which gives the paint a more rough and dull surface.
